Robotics for gynecologic conditions

The use of robot-assisted surgery in gynecology has grown significantly since it was first approved by the FDA in the mid-2000s. Some of the most common gynecological conditions that may be treated with the da Vinci system and, generally, robot-assisted techniques include:
  • Malignant gynecologic cancers, such as early-stage endometrial cancers and cervical cancers

Dr. Maria Torres, MD, FACOG earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University, and her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, before completing residency training at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She’s an expert in infertility evaluation and high-risk pregnancies.
