Texas obstetricians set the foundation for healthy pregnancies

Posted by

Foundation for Healthy Pregnancies from Dr. Taryll Jenkins, Jenkins Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Medicine
There are more obstetricians in Texas than any other state excluding California, but Board-certified OB/GYNs, Dr. Taryll L. Jenkins and Dr. Adebola I. Falae, set themselves apart in Katy with their passion for patient care and advanced training.

They have access to Southeast Texas’ largest health system. Located within Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, they arrange both minimally-invasive diagnostics and procedures on an outpatient basis, and involved procedures on an inpatient basis. You get the best of both worlds; the capabilities of a nationally-ranked hospital and the ongoing monitoring of inpatient care and progress by the specialists you’ve come to know and trust.

Close consultation and the latest technologies

There is no substitute for a trusted professional. Even before you are pregnant, the doctors offer services to increase the chances of your having a healthy pregnancy and birth. No two patients’ pre-conception services are the same. Your current health status plays a big role in the pregnancy plan, associated diagnostics and treatments, and follow-up care.

Generally, the considerations doctors may discuss with you at your well woman checks apply to pregnancy planning and obstetrics visits. Exercise is good for mom and for baby. Getting at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week keeps your weight in check. A healthy weight minimizes your risks of developing gestational diabetes. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. “Feed” baby, too, with 400 micrograms of folic acid daily. If a cereal doesn’t meet your needs for this vitamin, a folic acid supplement can reduce the risks of brain and spinal birth defects.

As the due date approaches, the doctors will see you more frequently. Advanced testing is an important feature of many visits, to screen for abnormalities such as chromosomal problems.

Call 855-346-8610 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Jenkins or Dr. Falae.
