Treatments for Gynecology ProblemsTreatments for Gynecology Problems at Gynecology & Reproductive Medicine
As a practice specializing in quality care for women in all phases of life, Drs. Jenkins and Falae identify gynecology problems in Katy early, allowing prompt and effective treatment.

During well-woman visits, the doctors will check for abnormalities like skin discoloration and irritation, swelling, sores, and growths. They will also discuss symptoms you may be experiencing, such as:
  • Pain
  • Spotting
  • Abnormal discharge
These symptoms can be indicative of conditions ranging from infections to ovarian cysts. In addition to a pelvic exam, Pap tests detect the presence of cancer in cells collected from the cervix. The doctors monitor year-to-year changes that can be signs that you are at heightened risk of developing cervical cancer.

Pap tests may be accompanied by tests for the human papillomavirus. There are more than 100 different types of HPV, so symptoms vary by the type of infection. When your body’s immune system can’t defeat the infection, warts can appear that look like flat lesions, bumps, or grainy growths. Unfortunately, many HPV strains that cause cervical cancer are asymptomatic, making it especially important to get an accurate diagnosis from the doctors.

Breast cancer detection

Many patients experienced unusual lumps, thickening of skin, or a change in the size, shape, and appearance of their breasts leading up to a cancer diagnosis. Clinical breast exams help to identify abnormalities in the breast tissue and lymph nodes in the armpit, while mammograms are generally ordered to detect cancerous or benign conditions that may require either follow-up testing or treatment. These conditions include:
  • Calcium deposits in ducts and other tissues
  • Masses and lumps
  • Asymmetrical areas
  • Unusually dense tissue in one breast or one part of the mammogram.
The images rendered during this testing will also be compared to your previous mammogram, so any changes can be identified, monitored, and addressed appropriately.
